Acupuncture

Acupuncture therapy for your pet is a pain-free way to treat a variety of conditions, primarily those dealing with inflammation and pain.

What is Acupuncture:

Stimulation of specific points on the body that activate internal self-healing processes. Acupuncture points are typically located near nerves and vessels, following muscles and connective tissue plains.

How does Acupuncture work?

Signals from the acupuncture point reach the spinal cord and brain to reduce pain, relax the mind, and improve organ function. This is called Neuromodulation. Acupuncture specifically releases tension from muscles and fascia, promotes the release of pain-reducing chemicals throughout the body and reduces inflammation.

Is Acupuncture safe and what does it feel like?

Yes, acupuncture is very safe. The use of sterile, thin stainless-steel needles helps to avoid risks of infection. Side effects are rare – especially with a gentle needling technique. An acupuncture needle can feel like a small pin-prick, a dull-ache, tingling or warm sensation that most pets tolerate well. Many even relax into the treatment.
